Manager, Environmental Compliance

Location: San Jose, CA
 
This is a people management position is within Operations and is responsible for ensuring NTGR products are environmentally compliant world-wide,  and for developing and managing NTGR’s sustainable manufacturing and corporate social responsibility policies.
 

Responsibilities


  • Develop an effective strategy for monitoring environmental laws and regulations worldwide.
  • Develop and audit process to ensure  NTGR environmental policies are followed.
  • Work with NTGR ODMs to ensure NTGR products comply with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Develop sustainable manufacturing and corporate social responsibility policies for NTGR.
  • Develop contacts and relationships with regulating authorities and consultants to ensure NTGR understands product environmental compliance requirements.
  • Work with NTGR legal to interpret environmental laws and regulations.
  • Ensure NTGR environmental compliance records are complete and archived.
  • Answer all customer questions regarding environmental compliance of NTGR products.
  • Reply to inquiries from environmental regulating authorities.
  • Develop and evangelize environmental compliance, sustainable manufacturing and CSR policy within NTGR.  
  • People management including hiring, budgets and performance management.
 

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a people manager, with responsibilities for department budget, recruiting and performance management.    A minimum of 10 years’ experience within environmental compliance. 
  • Thorough understanding of European Community RoHS, WEEE, EuP, REACH, Conflict Minerals, Battery Directives, China RoHS and sustainability programs.
  • Must have exceptional skill at organizing tasks and efficiently managing their time.
  • Excellent written and verbal English and language skills.
  • Ability to generate logically constructed and complete process and procedures.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • An BS/BA degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics,  Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering  is required.
  • Travel up to 25% per year.  This would include quarterly visits to NTGR Suppliers or Customers and regulating authorities.
